Liana Ambrose Murray is an inter- and multi-disciplinary visual artist raised in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina with roots in Northern/Central Florida. Her media of choice includes paint, collage, textiles, sound and installation to explore historical narratives, her lived experiences, people and our places/environments/stories. She graduated from Yale University in 2018 as an African-American Studies Major and is the first artist-in-residence at the Mississippi Center for Cultural Production in Utica, MS. By embarking on this journey of exchange in Utica, she hopes to learn more about the relationships between art/making, culture, community, land and agriculture.
