Sipp Culture is looking to bring on a new team member to take on the role of Farm Manager to support the development and maintenance of its agricultural infrastructure. We are in search of someone that understands the critical role food plays in the development of healthy communities.
This position would be responsible for managing the agricultural development of two properties:
The first property is a 1+ acre residential organic farm to be outfitted with raised beds and a greenhouse. The second property is a 17 acre green space, only a small portion of which will be used for agriculture. Both properties are in development and are located within the town of Utica, Mississippi.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting planning out the seasonal planting schedules
- Preparing the properties for planting, tending, and harvesting of produce
- Supervising paid and volunteer workers engaged in agricultural activities
- Operate and maintain tools, and heavy equipment
- Reducing waste through composting
We are looking for someone with 3+ years of farming experience. The position starts on January 1, 2020 and pays $15/hr.
