Carlton Turner Presents at National Gatherings

MCCP’s director, Carlton Turner, was recently featured on two panels, first at the People & Places 2017 convening in Washington DC and then at the Rural Arts and Culture Summit in Morris, Minnesota.

In DC, at the People & Places 2017 convening, Carlton presented on his work in community alongside Lynne McCormack (LISC Director of Creative Placemaking), Dean Matsubayashi (Little Tokyo Service Center), and Jennifer Hughes (National Endowment for the Arts). The panel was moderated by Lyz Crane of ArtPlace America.

In rural Morris, Minnesota at the University of Minnesota-Morris, Carlton presented alongside Anton Treuer (Ojibwe scholar), Meredith Martin Moats (McElroy House), and Michael Strand (potter from Fargo, ND). The session was introduced by Erik Takeshita (Bush Foundation) and moderated by Laura Zabel (Springboard for the Arts). You can view the panel session from the Rural Arts and Culture Summit below.
